A very warm welcome from the High School for Girls.

We are an 11-18 girls’ grammar school with a mixed Sixth Form which has been in existence since 1883.

The school offers students a vibrant, exciting learning experience. We inspire our students not only to achieve their full potential academically, but also to develop personal qualities and social skills that are so essential for their future life and work. We aim to recognise and celebrate individual talents and interests so that our students can become confident, lifelong learners. Most importantly, we want our students to be happy individuals who enjoy their school years and look back fondly on the time spent at the school.

The High School is a very special place where talented teachers and support staff form a dedicated, caring team who foster excellent staff-student relationships. We recognise the importance of respect for one another within our community and teach students to be responsible for themselves, the environment and others. We nurture leadership qualities so that our young people can be future leaders and an inspiration to others.

We are a forward-looking school which continues to embrace new technologies and approaches to learning so that we can provide a first class education in the 21st Century for all students in the school.
